ALGIERS, Oct 2, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday reiterated Algeria’s commitment to free education, stressing that the state will not abandon this principle despite its financial burden.
Speaking at a meeting with economic operators at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, Tebboune underlined that safeguarding free education is part of the state’s social mission.
He highlighted Algeria’s achievements in education since independence, recalling that illiteracy has been eradicated after once affecting nearly 90% of the population.
