Algeria President Calls for Stronger Efforts on Palestinian Issue

ALGIERS, March 25, 2026 – The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, called for intensified international efforts to reach a just and lasting solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
In a joint press statement with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, following their talks at the Presidency headquarters, President Tebboune specified that regarding the Palestinian issue, “I reaffirmed my country’s firm condemnation of the serious violations of international humanitarian law suffered by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
Tebboune also reiterated “the need to intensify international efforts to achieve a just and lasting solution guaranteeing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to establish an independent state, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, in order to pave the way for a just and lasting peace in the region.”
