Algeria Participates in the 149th IPU Session in Geneva

A delegation from both chambers of Parliament, led by Brahim Boughali, President of the National People’s Assembly (APN), will participate in the 149th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and related meetings scheduled to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from October 13 to 17, as announced in a statement released by the APN on Friday.

The Algerian parliamentary delegation includes Monder Bouden, Vice-President of the APN and member of the IPU’s High-Level Advisory Group on Counter-Terrorism and Violent Extremism; Farida Ilimi, First Vice-President of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians and member of the Permanent Commission on Democracy and Human Rights of the IPU; and Mohamed Anouar Bouchouit, Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Telecommunications at the APN, who is also a member of the Bureau of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians and the Permanent Commission on International Security and Peace of the IPU.

The Council of the Nation will be represented in this delegation by its Vice-President, Ahmed Kherchi, who also serves as Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the IPU, along with Senators Fouzia Benbadis, Abderrahmane Guenchouba, and Kamel Khelifati.
