Algeria Partakes in 47th APU Conference in Kinshasa

A parliamentary delegation from the Council of the Nation (Parliament’s upper house) participates, as part of a joint parliamentary delegation between the two chambers of parliament, in the 47th Conference of Speakers of the Member Parliaments of the African Parliamentary Union (APU), held on 18-22 November, in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to an upper house statement released on Monday.

The participating delegation, assigned by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Azouz Nasri, is composed of Senator and APU member, Mohamed Amroune, accompanied by Senators Kaddour Berradja, Rachid Elaib and Laid Boukeffa.

The agenda of the conference includes “discussions on the ways to strengthen the national sovereignty of African countries for sustainable development, as well as the challenges of energy transition and renewable energy development in Africa, through the two permanent Committees on political affairs, economic affairs and sustainable development.” During the conference, the members of the executive committee will approve APU’s work program for the year 2026, its draft budget, and several organizational matters.
