Algeria Partakes in “2025 Africa Energy Technology Conference”

ALGIERS – Director General of Foresight at the Algerian Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, Miloud Medjelled, is attending the 2025 Africa Energy Technology Conference from May 27 to 29 in Accra, Ghana. Theme: “Innovation, investment, implementation: towards financing sustainable energy sector growth in Africa,” said the ministry in a statement.

Appointed by Minister of State, Mohamed Arkab, Medjelled is participating alongside experts in energy technologies and representatives from continental and international financial and investment institutions.

In his speech on Algeria’s contribution to energy research and development, Medjelled reaffirmed Algeria’s strong commitment to effective participation in continental energy transition efforts.

He further emphasized the importance of developing African partnerships and boosting investment in technological innovation to achieve energy security and address sustainable development challenges.

The conference, organized by the African Energy Technology Centre (AETC) in partnership with the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), featured speeches from the organization’s secretary-general Omar Farouk Ibrahim, the

International Renewable Energy Agency’s director-general Francesco La Camera, several African energy ministers, and international representatives.

On the sidelines, Medjelled held bilateral talks with African and regional institution officials to explore ways to enhance technical cooperation and expertise exchange in renewable energies, gas, and electricity technologies, as well as Algeria’s role

in supporting initiatives to establish an integrated African energy market prone to sustainable solutions.
