Algeria, Oman Explore Joint Investment Opportunities in Pharmaceutical Industry

A meeting via videoconference was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry, bringing together representatives from the ministry and their counterparts from Oman’s Ministry of Health and investment bodies, to explore and discuss joint investment opportunities between economic operators from both countries, according to a communiqué issued by the ministry.

The communiqué noted that during this meeting, which comes as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman, the parties agreed on the importance of continuing coordination and joint work, with the goal of turning “shared political will into practical programs and effective partnerships” that benefit the pharmaceutical industry in both countries, with an emphasis on the exchange of visits between officials and the adoption of a timeline for implementing the agreed roadmap in order to enhance cooperation in this sector.

The communiqué further pointed out that the meeting was held in implementation of the outcomes of the working visit conducted by the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ouacim Kouidri, to the Sultanate of Oman last December, during which they explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation and joint investment between the two countries in the fields of pharmaceutical industry development, expertise exchange and technical experience, support for research, development and technology transfer, as well as facilitating access of Algerian pharmaceutical products to Omani and neighboring markets.
