Algeria / Niger : Intentions to promote bilateral cooperation to higher levels

The Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui welcomed, Monday at the Government Palace, the Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Niger, Mr. Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, on his official visit to Algeria, indicates a press release from the Prime Minister’s services.

During a working session between the two countries’ delegations, “the Prime Minister underlined the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, particular interest in developing bilateral relations with the Republic of Niger as a brotherly country,” said the press release.

The Prime Minister also discussed bilateral cooperation that the two countries endeavour to promote to higher levels within the framework of bilateral mechanisms, through implementing and propelling existing cooperation programs and joint development projects, according to the same source.

For his part, the Nigerien Prime Minister affirmed that his visit to Algeria at the head of an important ministerial delegation is paramount, expressing “his pride in being in Algeria, which has always played a determining role in supporting his country in its development efforts, especially during the most difficult times it experienced,” adds the press release.

Mr. Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine thereby “expressed his gratitude, and welcomed the Algerian president’s position against any military intervention in Niger,” continues the same source. He also affirmed “The willingness of his country’ leaders, government and people, to collaborate with Algeria”, stressing that his country “aspires to strengthen bilateral cooperation to support the Republic of Niger in its endeavours to consolidate national sovereignty over its wealth, in order to achieve stability and development,” according to the document.
