Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, held talks on Monday with the Minister of Petroleum of the Republic of Niger, Hamad Tinni, on the latest developments in Sonatrach’s activities in Niger, particularly with regard to monitoring the research and exploration project file of Sonatrach at the Kafra block oil field.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the progress of the strategic Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) project, to examine its various aspects, and to review the level of implementation of the decisions taken during the meetings that brought together the three ministers responsible for hydrocarbons from Algeria, Niger, and Nigeria, the Algerian Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines said in a statement.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, Arkab reiterated Algeria’s readiness—particularly through the Sonatrach Group and its subsidiaries—to resume Sonatrach’s previously agreed activities related to the research and exploration project at the Kafra block oil field, the statement said.
