Algeria–Niger: Arhab Holds Working Meeting with Nigerien Counterpart in Niamey

The Algerian Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nacima Arhab, held a working meeting in Niamey with her Nigerien counterpart, Farmo Moumouni, to examine ways to strengthen cooperation in vocational training and education, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the ministry.
The meeting took place Tuesday as part of the 2nd session of the Algerian–Nigerien Joint High Commission for Cooperation, co-chaired by the Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, and his Nigerien counterpart, Ali Lamine Zeine Mahaman, on March 23–24 at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center in Niamey, the same source added.
The talks between Nacima Arhab and her Nigerien counterpart made it possible to “define a joint roadmap with a precise timeline,” mainly focused on training trainers and strengthening their skills, exchanging educational materials, and providing technical support for the rehabilitation and expansion of the Niger–Algeria Friendship Vocational High School (LP/ANA) in Zinder.
It was also agreed to “transfer Algerian expertise in creating and managing Entrepreneurship Development Centers (CDE) within vocational training institutions,” in addition to strengthening cooperation in e-learning and distance training.
This direction reflects “a shared willingness to move from the exchange of expertise to the implementation of concrete projects, contributing to the modernization of vocational training systems and improving the quality of outcomes in line with labor market needs in both countries,” the statement concluded.
