ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and the Status of Women, Soraya Mouloudji, chaired on Tuesday a ceremony at the Moufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture in Algiers, on the occasion of National Children’s Day, celebrated every year on July 15.
In her speech during this event, which took place in the presence of government members and representatives of national bodies, the minister highlighted the state’s efforts in protecting and promoting children’s rights and the significant importance given to this segment of society. She added that celebrating National Children’s Day is an opportunity to “take stock and appreciate the achievements made in terms of care and protection of children.”
On this occasion, the minister said that the sector is preparing to launch a “reference guide” to ensure the quality of programs at early childhood care establishments nationwide and to improve educational programs through openings in sciences, knowledge, and modern technology.
A “national conference” will be organized around this guide, which will be adopted at the next social school year, she said.
Additionally, the minister announced the establishment of a multi-sectoral joint commission tasked with developing proposals related to “the protection of children against physical aggression,” which will bring together ministries, relevant bodies, security services, and civil society.
This commission will be divided into 4 groups (areas of social prevention, educational and pedagogical, legal, and protection and care), she concluded.
