Algeria hosts “Global Africa Tech 2026”, positioning itself as Africa’s digital innovation hub

ALGIERS – Commissioned by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb presided on Saturday over the opening of the “Global Africa Tech 2026” event, hosted by Algeria from March 28 to 30, under the theme “All Networks, One Convergence.”
“This prominent continental event is organized by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. It serves as a strategic platform for dialogue and cooperation, aiming to unify public policies, infrastructure strategies, investment dynamics, and innovation ecosystems, within a unified African vision for digitalization,” the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.
This inaugural edition features a high-profile participation including leading telecommunications operators, global technology companies, and investors, in addition to a select group of innovators and experts in the digital sector, reflecting the growing significance of the event at both regional and international levels, the statement said.
This forum embodies the strategic vision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at consolidating Algeria’s position as a key hub for digital innovation in Africa, by supporting digital transformation and strengthening integration among African countries.
It aims to build a digitally unified African continent by integrating terrestrial, maritime, aerial, and satellite networks, ensuring the provision of a modern and secure infrastructure that meets the demands of the digital age.
The forum also aims to strengthen digital sovereignty and reduce the gap between African countries by developing integrated communication systems that support economic growth and keep pace with global technological transformations.
