Algeria, Greece sign several agreements at Joint Committee meeting in Athens

The third session of the Algerian-Greek Joint Committee, held on Tuesday in Athens concluded with the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries in the areas of diplomatic training, sports, communications, the national archives, and air services.

This session, co-chaired by the Secretary of State to the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Economic Diplomacy and Promotion, Harry Theocharis, provided an opportunity to discuss the various aspects of cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen it in areas of mutual interest, particularly in energy and renewable energies, justice, agriculture, culture, tourism, communications, modern technologies, start-ups, sports, and transportation.

According to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed current international and regional issues, as well as the partnership between Algeria and the European Union, in addition to multilateral cooperation and coordination.

On the sidelines of this session, Chaib held a series of bilateral meetings, during which he met with members of the Greek government and senior officials, the statement said, adding that these meetings provided an opportunity to deepen consultations and exchange views on the various areas of cooperation between the two countries.
