Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, paid a courtesy visit to former Mozambican President and honorary president of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution, Joaquim Alberto Chissano. This visit marked the conclusion of Attaf’s official trip to the Republic of Mozambique, as reported in a press release from the ministry.
During this meeting, Attaf extended “the fraternal greetings of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune along with his heartfelt wishes for good health and well-being” to Chissano, according to the statement.
The meeting coincided with Algeria’s commemoration of National Martyrs’ Day and provided a platform for reflecting on the historical ties between Algeria and Mozambique, which are anchored in solidarity, mutual support, and a shared struggle against colonialism. Additionally, discussions focused on how to harness this rich legacy to benefit future generations, with the aim of preserving and enhancing the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations and their peoples, as noted in the same source.
