Algeria: FM Attaf holds talks with AU High Representative for Silencing the Guns

ORAN, Algeria – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held on Monday bilateral talks with Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the African Union’s High Representative for Silencing the Guns and Chair of the African Union High-Level Panel on Sudan, on the sidelines of the second day of the 11th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight Algeria’s contributions to promoting peace and security across Africa, as well as prospects for strengthening these efforts jointly in line with the outcomes of the Oran Process, the source added.
Both parties exchanged insights and analyses regarding the latest developments in the Sudanese crisis and the situation in the Sahel region, the statement concluded.
