Algeria : FM Ahmed Attaf Participates in Beijing in the Ninth Ministerial Meeting of the FOCAC

Upon the assignment of the Algerian President,Abdelmadjid Tebboune,  the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, participated today, Tuesday, in Beijing, in the ninth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The session was co-chaired by the Foreign Ministers of China and Senegal, according to a statement from the ministry.

The statement explained that this meeting was dedicated to assessing the progress made in implementing the Africa-China partnership agenda, particularly various cooperation activities and exchange programs agreed upon in different economic, social, scientific, and cultural fields.

The meeting also facilitated discussions on the outcomes of the upcoming Africa-China summit, scheduled for September 5 and 6, with a focus on the draft joint declaration and the executive program for the period from 2025 to 2027, the statement added.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Ahmed Attaf held side discussions with many of his African counterparts, including the Foreign Ministers of Tunisia, Mauritania, Libya, Kenya, Uganda, the Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Benin, Tanzania, Djibouti, Somalia, and the Central African Republic. These meetings were part of regular communication and coordination on important issues of mutual interest, according to the ministry’s statement.
