NEW YORK (United Nations) – Algeria’s permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amar Bendjama, explained Wednesday the reasons for Algeria’s abstention from voting on the resolution 2768 on security in the Red Sea, citing its “concerns” about the implementation of Resolution 2722 (2024), particularly regarding an erroneous interpretation of international law that could lead to strikes on a sovereign country (Yemen).
