Algeria, EU lawmakers hold 2nd joint meeting in Brussels

Algerian and European Union parliamentarians held their second Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting Thursday in Brussels, focusing on strengthening cooperation and correcting trade imbalances.

Algerian head of delegation Sid Ahmed Temamri called for a review of the 2005 Association Agreement to restore balance, expand economic ties and diversify beyond hydrocarbons.

EU co-chair Ruggero Razza said both sides face shared challenges in security, economy and migration, stressing Algeria’s role as a key energy supplier and the need to boost projects in renewables and green hydrogen.
