
The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Algiers, Li Jian, indicated that the Sino-Algerian comprehensive strategic partnership has reached new heights under the leadership of the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
During a ceremony organized Monday evening at the embassy headquarters in Algiers, on the occasion of celebrating the 97th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army foundation, Li Jian welcomed the new summits achieved by the comprehensive strategic partnerships between the two countries.
The bilateral trade exceeded $10 billion for the first time in 2023. In addition to the cooperation on strategic projects, such as the progressing Gara Djebilet-Bechar railway, as well as the developing of digitalization and new energies, said the ambassador.
He also spoke of his country’s support of the glorious November Revolution, stressing that the freedom fighters of the Liberation War “remain the pride of the entire Algerian nation and a symbol of friendship between our two countries.”
In the military field, Mr. Li praised the level of cooperation between the Algerian Army and its Chinese counterpart.
Concerning the Palestinian cause, the Chinese ambassador affirmed that Beijing’s efforts to end division and strengthen Palestinian national unity were a continuation of the reconciliation event of Palestinian factions held in Algiers.
