Algeria calls on the ISDB to finance energy access for African peoples

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, held talks on Monday with the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Mohamed Al-Jasser, on the sidelines of a ministerial session in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, under the theme “Policies and Reforms for Transforming the Energy Sector in Africa,” the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines said in a statement.
Minister Arkab and Al-Jasser discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and investment in the energy sector, the statement said, adding that the Algerian Minister of State emphasised the crucial role the bank can play in financing energy projects aimed at improving access to energy across Africa, particularly in electricity generation, network development, and promoting the use of liquefied petroleum gas as a clean and sustainable energy source.
