Algeria, Brazil Hold Sixth Session of Political Consultations in Brasília

Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Lounes Magramane, co-chaired, on Tuesday in Brasilia, with his Brazilian counterpart, Laura da Rocha, the proceedings of the sixth session of Algerian-Brazilian political consultations, according to a ministry’s statement.
During this meeting, the two sides reviewed “the friendly and cooperation relations between the two countries and discussed ways to foster them on the path of consolidating their economic partnership,” according to the same statement.
On this occasion, they emphasized “the need to encourage economic cooperation by laveraging the existing potential in all sectors, particularly in the fields of direct investment, agriculture, higher education, scientific research, industry, and maritime transport,” said the source.
The two sides also seized this opportunity to discuss and exchange views on “regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly recent developments in the Middle East, including the situation in Gaza, the Western Sahara issue, and the Sahel region, as well as multilateral cooperation and the reform of United Nations (UN) bodies,” said the source.
