Algeria, Belgium Discuss Boosting Bilateral Investment and Partnerships

The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, received the Ambassador of Belgium to Algeria, Jean-Jacques Kyria, on Wednesday. They discussed ways to enhance bilateral investment and encourage joint partnerships in priority sectors, according to an agency communiqué.
During the meeting at the Agency’s headquarters, both parties underscored the importance of strengthening communication between economic operators and institutions. They also emphasized establishing coordination mechanisms to organize business meetings and joint economic forums aimed at exploring investment opportunities.
Discussions focused on several strategic sectors of mutual interest, including agriculture, energy, and the pharmaceutical industry. The two sides also examined the possibility of establishing a joint business council to further enhance communication between economic operators in both countries.
In this regard, Rekkache highlighted the Agency’s “pivotal role” in supporting foreign investors and facilitating project implementation in Algeria, outlining the advantages and incentives provided under the national investment legal framework.
