The Central Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking seized last week more than a quintal (100 kilograms) of cannabis resin, coming from Morocco, and arrested three members of an organized criminal network, the National Police announced on Tuesday.

The source said that the specialized operational units of the National Police continue their fight against transnational organized crime.

Last week, the Central Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking (SCLTIS) seized 110 kilograms of processed cannabis coming from Morocco and arrested three members of an organized criminal network, added the source.

The operation followed “meticulous field investigations in a southwestern province, conducted under the oversight of the competent prosecutor’s office. Investigators uncovered the network’s criminal operations and intercepted the drug shipment, arresting three suspects and recovering two vehicles prepared for transporting the narcotics.” The suspects have been brought before the Public Prosecutor at the Specialized Criminal Division in Oran, the statement confirmed.
