Algeria and WIPO Explore Enhanced Cooperation as Regional Office Opens in Algiers

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Wednesday the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Daren Tang, who is on an official visit to Algeria.

According to the Algerian Foreign Ministry, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation with WIPO in the context of the official inauguration of a regional office of this UN agency in Algiers.

Talks particularly focused on supporting and accompanying Algeria’s national efforts to develop industry, promote start-ups, encourage innovation, enhance human resources, and preserve the country’s cultural heritage.
