Algeria : 5G Deployment Planned for Second Half of 2025

ALGIERS- The deployment of fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks is planned for the second half of the current year (2025), Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, announced on Tuesday.

“The preparations for the deployment of 5G in Algeria are underway, and its launch is planned for the second half of this year,” Zerrouki said in a statement to the National Radio, adding that “in-depth studies” are being conducted on this strategic project, covering all technical, financial, and regulatory aspects.

The minister pointed out that the use of this advanced technology, which offers very high-speed connectivity, is expected to pave the way for innovative applications in strategic sectors such as health, industry, and education.

This decision follows the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who, during the last Council of Ministers, gave the green light for the deployment of 5G, ordering to conduct in-depth studies related to this advanced technology.
