Algeria : 2 Terrorists Surrender, 4 Supporters Arrested

Two terrorists surrendered to the military authorities in Adrar and In Guezzam, while four terrorist supporters were arrested by detachments of the Algerian People’s National Army (PNA) in various operations conducted nationwide between November 26th and December 2nd, according to an operational report released by the PNA on Wednesday.

“As part of the sustained efforts to fight against terrorism and multifaceted organized crime, PNA units and detachments carried out between November 26th and December 2nd, 2025, several operations resulting in quality outcomes that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance, and constant readiness of our armed forces throughout the national territory,” said the source.

As part of the fight against terrorism and “thanks to the efforts of the PNA units, the terrorists named G.A, alias “Abou Djaffer,” and H.C, alias “Al-Cherif,” surrendered to the military authorities of Adrar and In Guezzam, in possession of a light machine gun and three Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a quantity of ammunition and other items,” the communiqué stated.

In this regard, “PNA detachments arrested four terrorist supporters during several operations carried out nationwide,” added the source.

As part of the fight against organized crime and “in continuation of efforts to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the PNA, in coordination with various security forces, intercepted 30 drug traffickers during operations carried out across the Military Regions and foiled attempts to smuggle 19 quintals and 93 kilograms of cannabis resin coming from the borders with Morocco, while 1,425,734 psychotropic tablets were seized.” In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Illizi, and Djanet, “detachments of the PNA arrested 344 individuals and seized 29 vehicles, 244 generators, 133 jackhammers, as well as quantities of raw gold mixed with stones, and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations,” the communiqué added. “Similarly, 14 other individuals were apprehended and a Kalashnikov-type submachine gun, seven hunting rifles, 103,300 liters of fuel, 25 quintals of tobacco, and 10 tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation were seized in various operations.”

Furthermore, “the Coast Guard foiled attempts of illegal migration along the national coasts and rescued 63 individuals aboard makeshift boats, while 270 illegal migrants of various nationalities were arrested across the national territory,” the report concluded.
