Al Green Escorted from Capitol After Interrupting Trump’s Address

US Representative Al Green was escorted out of the Capitol on Tuesday after disrupting President Donald Trump’s address to Congress. The Texas Democrat was removed after House Speaker Mike Johnson warned him to stop interrupting.
During Trump’s speech, Green shouted that the president had “no mandate” to cut Medicaid, protesting proposed budget reductions. While some lawmakers booed, others chanted “U-S-A!” as Johnson ordered Green’s removal, citing a disruption of decorum.
Speaking to reporters afterward, Green defended his actions, stating it was “worth it” to stand against cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. He added that he was unsure whether he would face formal punishment.
