Air China Resumes Beijing–Pyongyang Flights After Six-Year Suspension

China’s flag carrier Air China has resumed direct flights between Beijing and Pyongyang following a six-year suspension caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Xinhua News Agency, flight CA121 departed from Beijing Capital International Airport at 8:05 a.m. local time on Monday, based on information from the airline’s website. The aircraft is expected to arrive at Pyongyang Sunan International Airport at approximately 11 a.m. local time.
The return flight, designated CA122, is scheduled to depart from Pyongyang at noon, heading back to Beijing.
The resumption comes after North Korea’s national carrier Air Koryo restarted its Pyongyang–Beijing flights in August 2023. Additionally, the two countries resumed passenger train services between their capitals on March 12, signaling a gradual normalization of cross-border transport links.
