ALGIERS, July 25, 2024 – A Mauritanian business delegation is visiting Algeria to explore potential cooperation and partnership opportunities with Algerian companies in the agricultural sector, particularly in agricultural equipment. This visit was initiated by the Confederation of Algerian Industrialists and Producers (CIPA).
The delegation, led by Teslem Cheikh Bourweiss, Deputy Director General of La Mauritanienne des Produits d’Elevage under the Mauritanian Ministry of Livestock, includes representatives from various public and private Mauritanian companies.
During the ten-day visit that began on Tuesday, a working session was held between the delegation and CIPA officials, led by its president, Abdelwahab Ziani. Discussions focused on the possibility of exporting Algerian-manufactured agricultural and electrical equipment to Mauritania for use in dairies, industrial slaughterhouses, and animal parks, according to Samira Djafri, an adviser at CIPA.
The Mauritanian delegation is also interested in collaborating with Algerian operators in packaging, animal feed production, dietary supplements for animals, and veterinary medicines. Djafri highlighted “the strong historical, cultural, and social ties between Algeria and Mauritania,” which have been strengthened in recent years through cooperation in various fields, especially economic and commercial, with growing bilateral trade.
