Agri Tech Expo: A Catalyst for Strengthening African Agricultural Cooperation (Ambassadors)

The second International Agricultural Investment and Technology Exhibition (Agri Tech Expo), taking place in Annaba from October 8 to 10, serves as an “additional means” to bolster agricultural and cultural cooperation among African nations, according to ambassadors from various African countries attending the event.
Sidi Mohamed Mohamed Abdallah, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and this edition’s guest of honor, told APS that numerous African nations “face significant challenges in agriculture” and are “working to enhance their cooperative relationships to achieve food security.”
He highlighted that the exhibition “showcases the impressive technological and technical capabilities of Algerian companies across various agriculture-related domains” and “offers Mauritania the opportunity to explore potential collaborations with specialized Algerian partners.” Abdallah asserted that Mauritania’s designation as the guest of honor reflects the strong and historical ties between Algeria and Mauritania.
Meanwhile, Aminou Malam Manzo, the Nigerien ambassador to Algeria, noted that the expo enabled him to witness the “high level” of development within Algerian agricultural equipment companies, from which his country “can benefit to improve its agricultural activities.”
Antonio Augusto Eduardo Namburete, the Mozambican ambassador to Algeria, remarked that the expo presents a chance to acknowledge the “remarkable progress” made by Algerian enterprises in agricultural technology. He added that Mozambique, which “aims to capitalize on this development, will offer opportunities for Algerian operators eager to share their expertise in Mozambique.”
In this context, Vusumuzi Ntonga, the Zimbabwean ambassador to Algeria, stated that this international exhibition represents a “valuable opportunity” for his country to expand exchanges and cooperation with Algeria in agriculture, particularly concerning techniques and technologies related to irrigation, fertilizers, and pesticides.
The Agri Tech Expo, organized in Annaba by the communications company Incop-Events, featured the participation of ambassadors from ten African nations, including Cameroon, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Angola, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, and Mauritania.
