AFCON 2025 (Algeria vs Sudan): “We will give our all to win,” Says Petkovic
The Algerian football team coach, Vladimir Petkovic, emphasized the importance of getting off to a strong start in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (21 December 2025 – 18 January 2026) on Wednesday against Sudan (4 p.m.), for the 1st matchday of Group E.
“The first match is always difficult, especially coming right after the preparation period. We are composed and confident, ready to give our all. We will give our all to win. The game promises to be challenging: we must take our opponent seriously while believing in our own abilities,” said Petkovi? during a press conference held 24 hours prior to the match against Sudan.
In addition to Sudan, Algeria, marking its 21st appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations, will also face Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea, set to play on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
“I think we are pleased with everything we’ve done so far. The team is in good shape, and fortunately we have recovered all the players except for Aouar. The team is performing well, and I am confident we will get off to a strong start,” he added.
