70 Palestinians killed in 24h as occupation ignores Trump’s call to halt bombing

The Zionist occupation continued its heavy bombardment across various areas of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, resulting in multiple injuries and extensive damage to property, including the complete destruction of Al-Azhar University in Gaza City.
The occupation’s warplanes targeted displaced people’s tents east of Asda neighborhood, north of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, causing injuries to several civilians, WAFA news agency reported, citing local sources.
The occupation also shelled gatherings of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid east of Wadi Gaza, in central Gaza, leading to multiple injuries, the source said.
In Gaza City, the Zionist occupation’s warplanes carried out consecutive airstrikes on the neighborhoods of Sabra, Al-Jalaa, and Al-Thalathini. Meanwhile, residential buildings belonging to the Al-Louh and Abu Shaaban families near the Tayaran intersection were targeted, resulting in injuries and widespread destruction to the targeted buildings and neighboring homes.
Additionally, fighter jets struck Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, causing injuries and damage to residents’ homes.
Simultaneously, intense shelling targeted Al-Azhar University in Gaza City, completely destroying the facility amid the ongoing assault on civilian infrastructure and facilities across the Gaza Strip, WAFA added.
On Saturday, 70 Palestinians have been killed since dawn by occupation forces in various parts of the Strip, despite a demand from U.S. President Donald Trump for “Israel” to stop bombing in response to a declaration by Hamas that it was ready for his plan to end the war.
Moreover, a White House official said Trump was sending his envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Egypt to finalize the technical details of the captives’ release and discuss a “lasting peace deal.”
This comes as the Zionist occupation’s genocidal war on Gaza has killed at least 67,074 Palestinians and wounded 169,430 others since October 2023. Thousands more are believed to be buried under the rubble.
