The Algerian women’s national 3×3 basketball team has successfully qualified for the U23 World Cup, which is set to take place in Xiong’an, China, from September 17 to 21, 2025. This achievement is a result of their accumulated ranking in the FIBA 3×3 Nations League, as announced by the Algerian Basketball Federation (FABB) on Thursday.

According to the qualification criteria, the FIBA 3×3 Nations League awards direct entries to the winners of each conference and also provides an automatic spot for the highest-ranked second-place team based on the overall global standings of the conferences.

Algeria secured its place by finishing second overall, marking a “historic” achievement for the U23 World Cup.

The teams confirmed by FIBA for the U23 women’s competition thus far include the host nation, China, along with Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, Italy, Spain, Japan, and New Zealand. Additionally, Fiji from Oceania has earned a direct entry through the Nations League. The complete list of participants will be updated by FIBA as the conferences conclude.

This qualification highlights the dedication of the Algerian team and the technical staff led by Coach Imed Eddine Hani Aichour, representing a significant milestone for the advancement of women’s 3×3 basketball in Algeria.
