25 UK MPs Call for Halt on Arms Supply to the Zionist Entity Amid Growing Protests

Twenty-five British Members of Parliament from various political parties have united in a call to stop supplying arms to the Zionist entity, staging a protest outside the UK Parliament in London. This demonstration, held on Monday, follows a petition demanding an arms embargo on the Zionist entity that surpassed 100,000 signatures, prompting a parliamentary debate on the matter.
Ahead of the parliamentary session, the MPs urged an end to arms sales to Tel Aviv and a complete ban on supplying weapons. The UK government had already suspended 30 out of 350 arms export licenses to the Zionist entity, though the partial ban did not include British-made components used in the Zionist entity’s F-35 fighter jets, which form a significant part of its air strikes on Gaza.
In early September, Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced that the UK would suspend some arms sales to the Zionist entity, noting that around 30 licenses would be halted. However, Defense Secretary John Healey maintained that this suspension did not change the UK’s stance on the Zionist entity’s right to defend itself.
Human rights organizations and NGOs criticized the partial ban as insufficient, calling for a full cessation of arms supplies to the Zionist entity. Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist entity has been accused of committing genocide in Gaza, supported by US backing, with over 152,000 Palestinian casualties, most of them women and children, and widespread destruction. Despite international calls for accountability, the Zionist entity continues its military actions, disregarding arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court for its officials implicated in war crimes.
