23rd Algerian-Tunisian High Joint Commission: 25 Agreements Signed Across Multiple Sectors

The 23rd session of the Algerian-Tunisian High Joint Commission on Cooperation, held Friday in Tunis under the co-presidency of the Algerian Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, and the head of the Tunisian government, Sarra Zaafrani, concluded with the signing of 25 agreements in various sectors.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of both officials, following the expanded session of the High Joint Commission for Cooperation.

In this framework, Algeria and Tunisia signed a cooperation agreement in the fight against money laundering, the financing of terrorism, and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the insurance sector, as well as another agreement on accreditation between the Algerian Accreditation Body (ALGERAC) and the National Council of Accreditation (TUNAC).

A framework cooperation agreement was signed between Algérienne des Eaux (ADE) and Tunisia’s National Water Distribution Company (SONEDE), along with another cooperation agreement between the Algerian Chamber of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Tunisian Interprofessional Group for Fisheries Products. A framework agreement was also concluded between Algeria’s National Office for Irrigation and Drainage (ONID) and Tunisia’s Directorate-General of Rural Engineering and Water Resources.

The two countries also signed a twinning and cooperation agreement between the Algerian Public Broadcasting Corporation (EPRS) and Tunisian Radio, a memorandum of understanding between Algerian Public Television and Tunisian Television, and another MoU between the Algeria Press Service (APS) and Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).

In addition, an agreement was signed for the joint operation of regular international road passenger transport lines between “El Djamiaya Linakl Oua El Khadamet” and the Tunisian National Intercity Transport Company (SNTRI).

Both parties also signed a cooperation agreement in the field of employment and a twinning agreement between Algeria’s General Labor Inspectorate (IGT) and the Tunisian General Authority for Labor and Professional Relations.

Another agreement was concluded between the National Institute for Vocational Training and Education (INFEP) “Kaci Tahar” in El Biar and Tunisia’s National Center for Training of Trainers and Training Engineering.

Algerian-Tunisian relations were further strengthened through a cooperation agreement between Algeria’s National Office of Copyright and Related Rights (ONDA) and Tunisia’s Copyright and Related Rights Organization (OTDAV), as well as an MoU between the Algerian Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry and the Tunisian Ministry of Health.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Algerian Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (IDRI) and the International Diplomatic Academy of Tunis, and another MoU between the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) and Tunisia’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA).

Additionally, a cooperation memorandum was concluded between the Higher School for the Deaf (ENSSM) and Tunisia’s Higher Institute of Specialized Education (ISES), and another in the field of energy and renewable energies between Algeria’s Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies and Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy.

Another MoU was signed between the Insurance Supervision Commission (CSA) of Algeria’s Ministry of Finance and the Tunisian General Authority, focusing on information exchange and supervision of the insurance sector.

Furthermore, both sides signed an executive cooperation program in the field of sports for 2026–2027, another program concerning the youth sector for the same period, and an executive program for the cooperation agreement on the promotion of women, family, childhood, and elderly persons for the period 2026–2028.

In the cultural field, the Algerian Ministry of Culture and Arts and Tunisia’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs signed an executive program, as did the two countries’ Ministries of Health, which concluded an executive program for cooperation in the health sector for the next three years.

On this occasion, the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) and the Tunisian Investment Authority also signed the executive program of their memorandum of understanding for 2026–2027.

The Prime Minister and his Tunisian counterpart also signed the official minutes of the session.
