2025 Africa Cup of Nations Draw Set for January 27

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place on Monday, January 27, 2025. The ceremony, which will be broadcast live on CAF’s official website, is set to begin at 7:00 PM Algerian time. It will feature the participation of delegations from the 24 qualified nations.
The 24 teams, including Algeria, will be divided into six groups of four. Following the group stage, the top two teams from each group, as well as the four best third-place finishers, will advance to the knockout rounds, which begin with the Round of 16.
The tournament will kick off on December 21, 2025, with the final scheduled for January 18, 2026.
The full list of the 24 teams qualified for this edition of the AFCON includes: South Africa, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Comoros, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
This highly anticipated competition promises to showcase Africa’s top footballing talent as nations vie for continental glory.
