Algeria: Army Killed Seven Terrorists, Lost Three Soldiers (ANP)

ALGIERS, March 13, 2026 – Units of the Algerian National People’s Army (ANP) succeeded on Friday in neutralizing three additional terrorists in the Tébessa military sector in the 5th Military Region, bringing the total number of terrorists killed to seven, including two group leaders (“emirs”), according to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of National Defence (MDN).

“As part of the fight against terrorism and while continuing the high-quality operation carried out by units of the ANP on the night of Thursday, March 12, 2026, in the Tébessa military sector in the 5th Military Region, the same units succeeded on Friday, March 13, 2026, in neutralizing three other terrorists in the same area and recovering three Kalashnikov-type submachine guns,” the statement said.

The toll now stands at “seven terrorists killed, including two emirs, namely the terrorists Youcef Salah and Haddad Bilal, with the recovery of seven Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a quantity of ammunition, and other equipment,” the statement added.

“During the clash with this terrorist group, three soldiers fell in the line of duty,” the statement noted.

In this difficult circumstance, Saïd Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the Algerian National People’s Army, extended, in his name and on behalf of all ANP personnel, his sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the families of the fallen soldiers, praying to Almighty Allah, during this sacred month, to grant them strength and courage and to surround the deceased with His great mercy. “To Allah we belong and to Him we return.”
