Algeria–Turkey: Third Round of Political Consultations Held

The Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, co-chaired on Friday in Istanbul with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Musa Kulaklıkaya, the third session of Algerian–Turkish political consultations, according to a statement from the ministry.
On this occasion, both sides welcomed “the historic ties and the exceptional level reached by Algerian–Turkish relations in recent years,” and praised “the significant progress made in strengthening the partnership between the two countries in various fields, particularly economic and commercial cooperation,” the statement said.
The consultations also made it possible “to review the schedule of upcoming bilateral events and examine ways to make the most of them in order to strengthen cooperation and partnership relations, in line with the vision and will of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,” the statement added.
During these political consultations, “both sides exchanged views and analyses, in line with the established tradition of consultation between the two countries, on several regional and international issues of common interest, particularly developments in the situation in the Middle East and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the question of Western Sahara and the Sahel region,” the statement concluded.
