Iran Determined to Implement Strategic Deal with Russia

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed his country’s determination to implement its strategic global partnership with Russia, adding that relations between Tehran and Moscow have entered “a new era,” media outlets reported Thursday, citing a statement from the Presidential Office.
In a meeting with Russia’s Minister of Energy, Sergei Tsivilev, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, Pezeshkian noted that he has held several meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin since taking office in July 2024.
“All discussions resulted in key strategic decisions serving the shared interests of both nations and opening new horizons for bilateral ties,” the Iranian President said. His remarks coincided with the holding of the 19th meeitng of the Iran–Russia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission.
He further affirmed that Tehran is moving swiftly to implement the strategic agreements across all sectors, notably transport, energy, oil and gas, agriculture, food products, defence and security.
Pezeshkian concluded by highlighting that the Kremlin places great importance on its relationship with Iran, stressing that “no party will be able to undermine the strategic relations between Iran and Russia.”
