
Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf held bilateral talks on Thursday in Addis Ababa with Burundi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Development Cooperation, Edouard Bizimana, on the sidelines of the African Union (AU) Executive Council meeting, the ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, Attaf congratulated his Burundian counterpart as his country prepares to assume the rotating presidency of the African Union, assuring him of Algeria’s support for the Republic of Burundi in leading the continental organization’s efforts on security, development and integration issues, the statement said.
The two ministers also reviewed ways to strengthen relations between Algeria and Burundi in preparation for upcoming high-level bilateral meetings, it added.
