
Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Thursday in Addis Ababa with Mauritania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, on the sidelines of the African Union (AU) Executive Council meeting, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the various aspects of the fraternal and cooperative relations between the two countries and to examine prospects for elevating them to broader horizons, in preparation for the upcoming session of the Algerian-Mauritanian Joint High Commission, in line with the directives of the two countries’ leaders and their strategic vision for bilateral partnership, the statement said.
The two ministers also discussed, within the framework of consultation and coordination, the latest developments in their shared regional neighborhood, it added.
