China Opposes Any Attempt to Annex Palestinian Territory in West Bank

China on Thursday said it opposed “any attempt to annex” Palestinian territory after the Zionist entity approved measures this week that significantly strengthen its control over the occupied West Bank.

At a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said: “China has always opposed the construction of new settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory and any attempt to annex or encroach on Palestinian territory that undermines the foundations of the two-state solution.”

Lin also said: “The West Bank is an inalienable part of Palestinian territory.”

The measures approved by the Zionist entity’s security cabinet on Sunday ease land acquisition procedures for settlers in the West Bank, which has been occupied by since 1967, and allow Zionist authorities to administer certain religious sites even if they fall within areas under Palestinian jurisdiction.

China reiterated its support for a negotiated two-state solution to the conflict.
