Algerian FM holds talks with South African counterpart in Addis Ababa

Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Wednesday in Addis Ababa with South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, on the sidelines of the African Union (AU) Executive Council meeting, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

During the talks, the two sides exchanged views and analyses on the main challenges facing the African continent and reviewed ways to strengthen coordination on these issues within the African Union, the statement said.

The ministers also discussed prospects for consolidating traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, in line with the directives of their respective presidents, it added.
