Algerian PM Inspects Progress of Annaba Port Expansion and Mining Quay

Algerian Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, arrived on Saturday in the Wilaya of Annaba on a working and inspection visit, dedicated to assessing the progress of the Port of Annaba expansion, with particular attention to the completion of the mining quay, which is part of the integrated phosphate project, the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.

He was accompanied by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab; the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Saïd Sayoud; the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui; the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir; and the Minister of Mujahideen and Rightsholders, Abdelmalek Tacherift.

According to the statement, this visit is part of the implementation of instructions from Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, regarding the need to accelerate the construction of the mining quay within the Port of Annaba expansion project, given its strategic importance in supporting the national phosphate supply chain, enhancing the port’s capacity to handle large shipments, and improving the flow of exports to international markets.
