Rafah Border Crossing Reopens, Allowing Patients and Humanitarian Cases to Leave Gaza

The Rafah border crossing in southern Gaza reopened on Thursday morning, permitting the departure of patients and humanitarian cases as well as the return of stranded residents.

Raed al-Nams, spokesperson for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, told WAFA that the fourth batch of humanitarian cases, including patients, wounded, and injured individuals, had been prepared and were departing from Red Crescent facilities toward the crossing for medical treatment abroad.

Since reopening on Monday, the crossing has allowed only 50 patients and wounded individuals, including their companions, to leave Gaza, despite approximately 18,500 needing medical care abroad. Earlier, Zionist forces had prevented the departure of patients and wounded scheduled for treatment, citing coordination issues with the World Health Organization.
