OIC Condemns Zionist Entity’s Demolition of UNRWA Facilities

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Wednesday the Zionist occupation forces’ storming and demolition of facilities belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied al-Quds, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
In a statement, the organization said that the move is “a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and its resolutions, the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, and the 1946 Convention on the UN Privileges and Immunities.” It affirmed that the occupation’s targeting of the UNRWA headquarters in occupied al-Quds comes within the framework of its illegal attempts to liquidate the refugee issue by undermining the existence of UNRWA and its vital role, which bears witness to the international community’s commitment to the Palestinian refugee issue and the protection of their rights under relevant UN resolutions.
The OIC renewed its call to the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take the necessary decisions and measures to protect UNRWA’s mandate, facilities and staff and to compel the occupying power to cease its violations and respect its obligations under international law.
