UNRWA Warns of Severe Shortages in Gaza Amid Winter Storms and Ongoing Siege

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) affirmed on Thursday that supplies and shelter materials remain insufficient to meet the immense needs in the Gaza Strip, amid the siege and restrictions imposed by the Zionist occupation on the entry of aid.
The UN agency said, in a post published on its official social media accounts, that “the winter storms affecting the Gaza Strip have caused flooding and exposed families to low temperatures and contaminated water.
In this regard, it noted that “the Agency continues to support the most vulnerable people, but supplies and shelter materials remain insufficient to meet the immense needs, which have been exacerbated by recent rains.” The UNRWA further stressed the need to “lift the restrictions on aid immediately.” Last October, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced that an agreement had been inked to end the campaign of extermination in the Gaza Strip, ease the withdrawal of the Zionist occupation forces, allow the entry of aid, and enable a prisoner exchange.
Nevertheless, the occupation continues to commit violations, resulting, since the agreement came into effect on 10 October, in 449 deaths and 1,246 injuries.
