Iran Threatens Retaliation if Attacked by U.S.

Tehran on Sunday threatened to retaliate against the Zionist entity and U.S. bases in the event of U.S. strikes on Iran.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, speaking in parliament on Sunday, warned the United States against “a miscalculation”.

“Let us be clear: in the case of an attack on Iran, the occupied territories (Israel) as well as all U.S. bases and ships will be our legitimate target,” said Qalibaf, a former commander in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Iranian Army called on people to remain vigilant and foil “hostile plots aimed at inciting instability and riots in the country,” Tasnim news agency reported.

This also comes as the spokesperson for Iran’s Constitutional Council attributed the recent protests in the country to “foreign interference.”

“Foreign interference transformed peaceful protests of people directed at livelihood demands into riots and unrest,” he said.
