Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Tuesday with the Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár, as part of his official visit to the Slovak Republic, as assigned by the Algerian President.

These talks provided an opportunity to review the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries and to explore future prospects across various priority sectors, particularly energy, renewable energy, the pharmaceutical industry, and water resources, as well as in the fields of industry and agriculture, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The two parties also discussed several regional and international issues of mutual interest, especially those related to developments in the areas to which both countries belong, the statement said.

The talks concluded with the signing of a joint declaration by the two ministers, aimed at setting the priorities for bilateral cooperation and defining a shared roadmap to strengthen it through the reinforcement of its legal framework and the completion of its institutional structure.

The joint statement also stipulated that both parties support international efforts aimed at consolidating the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and establishing a Palestinian state within the framework of a two-state solution, as well as affirming the two countries’ support for the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
