Algeria Hosts 4th African Startup Conference, a Major Continental Innovation Event

ALGIERS, Dec 5, 2025 – The 4th African Startup Conference (ASC), the continent’s largest event dedicated to startups, opens Saturday in Algiers, with more than 25,000 participants expected for this key gathering on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Held under the theme “Raising African champions”, the conference runs from December 6 to 8 at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. It has become a major continental platform aimed at building a competitive, sovereign and inclusive tech ecosystem in Africa.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-Enterprises along with Algeria Venture, will bring together over 35 ministerial delegations, around 200 exhibitors, and more than 300 international experts. It will also host over 150 investors, project holders, incubators, African diaspora entrepreneurs, and representatives of international organizations.

Rwanda is this year’s guest of honor, in recognition of its progress in innovation and Algeria’s desire to strengthen cooperation with leading African countries in entrepreneurship.

President Tebboune recently described the conference as a “bridge between African countries and the rest of the world,” stressing that developing a startup economy through intra-African partnership is the most effective way to build a strong, diversified, knowledge-based economy.

Beyond the ministerial summit, the event will highlight African “champions” who have built high-impact companies contributing to real economic development across the continent.

Throughout the three days, the program includes specialized sessions on research, innovation, content creation, fintech and artificial intelligence, along with an exhibition showcasing young Africans’ creative potential. Discussions will also cover technological trends, telecom infrastructure, the digital sector’s climate impact, and digital solutions for climate resilience.

Other topics include Africa’s future with AI, best incubation practices, startup scaling, the African innovation ecosystem, and professional networking opportunities between investors and project holders.

Now established as a key platform for cooperation and exchange in innovation and entrepreneurship, ASC offers participants major opportunities to access African and global markets and to connect with potential international financing partners.

Since its first edition in 2022, the African Startup Conference has served as a vital meeting point for connecting ecosystems across borders and accelerating Africa’s technological and economic sovereignty.
