President Lukashenko Concludes Official Visit to Algeria

The President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, concluded his official visit to Algeria on Wednesday evening.
The Belarusian President was seen off at Houari Boumediene International Airport by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation (Parliament’s upper house), Azouz Nasri.
The visit culminated in the signing of several agreements covering various areas of bilateral cooperation.
The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, signed Wednesday, alongside the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, a Joint Declaration to strengthen partnership and friendship relations between the two countries.
The declaration was signed at the Presidency of the Republic following talks between the President of the Republic and his Belarusian counterpart on the occasion of the latter’s official visit to Algeria.
“We will work to boost our relations to bring them to the highest possible level,” the Belarusian President said in a press statement following his talks with the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Describing his visit to Algeria as a “historic” milestone in bilateral relations, he underlined that he shares a “pragmatic approach” with the President of the Republic.
President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for his part, reaffirmed Algeria’s supportive positions for finding a just solution that restores the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights and establishes their independent state, as well as a just political solution that enables the people of Western Sahara to exercise their right to self-determination.
Alongside his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, oversaw the signing ceremony of several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on Wednesday, covering various fields of cooperation between the two countries.
President Tebboune expressed satisfaction with the signing of several cooperation agreements between Algeria and Belarus on Wednesday, setting the stage for a promising partnership between the two nations.
In a joint statement with his Belarusian counterpart following talks they held at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, President Tebboune said: “we agreed to promote partnership and investment in agriculture, animal health, energy, scientific research, and the pharmaceutical industry.” The President of the Republic expressed satisfaction with the signing of cooperation agreements that will “set the stage for a promising partnership between the two countries.” During this official visit, the Belarusian ministers who were part of the delegation accompanying President Alexander Lukashenko held meetings with their Algerian counterparts.
The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf; Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari, Minister of Health, Mohamed Seddik Ait Messaoudene, Minister of Industry Yahia Bachir, Minister of Justice Lotfi Boudjemaa, and Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui engaged with their counterparts to advance cooperation in their respective sectors.
Together, these meetings reflect a broad, multi-sector engagement, highlighting Algeria’s ambition to deepen bilateral cooperation with Belarus on many fronts.
Relations between Algeria and Belarus have seen in recent years a growing political and economic momentum marked by the strong will of the leaders of the two countries, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, to give new impetus to bilateral relations and to strengthen partnership and cooperation opportunities.
Dring President Lukashenko’s visit to Algeria, he held meetings with Algeria’s top state officials, including speakers of both chambers, the President of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament) Azouz Nasri and the President of the People’s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament) Brahim Boughali, as well as the Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, underscoring the high level of political and institutional engagement between Algeria and Belarus.
